ACL Story

I am going to interview students who are going to acl and also the locals who attend the festival

questions:
What do you think of the lineup this year since it's the 10th anniversary?
Who are you looking forward to seeing this year?
Have you been to ACL previous years and if so how was it compared to this year?
How do you feel about the headliners this year?
What bands are most looking forward to seeing this year?
What do you think about the harsh weather this year? Does it ruin acl in any way for you?

newspaper expectations

  1. step one: pick your story.
  2. brainstorm who you want to interview for story.always interview student regardless of story.Keep interviews with adults to a minimum. THINK OUTTA THE BOX.
  3. come up with a set of questions you could ask people. Don't ask questions that can be answered with a yes or no. Write questions that are open ended. Write different sets of questions for different people
  4. listen carefully to what the subject is saying. If they give you an opening take it. Have a conversation.
  5. go to editor and discuss expectations of the story you are writing about.Communicate with editor to discuss how much you should write. Average story is about half a page in microsoft word. 10pt font.
  6. come up with outline form about what the story is about and is going to go. Quote-transition style. go back to question to help with statements.
  7. Do interview
  8. write the body first.Always try to the piece the middle of the story first and then figure out the lead and ending.
  9. write lead. first 5 words the most crucial in the story.
  10. finish story. DON'T MISS DEADLINE!!!!!!!

2 favorite newspapers

Greenwich Time, published in Greenwich, Connecticut USA
One of my favorite newspapers was the Greenwich Time Newspaper. I like how the cover page is made and how the the main picture on the cover really lures you into reading the cover story. The newspaper also has sidebars that tell you what stories, pictures, ect are inside and it would make you really want to read the stories inside. I like how the top story covers most of the front page and there is another small story relating to the top story of the paper.

  • San Francisco Chronicle, published in San Francisco, California USA
I enjoy the way this newspaper is organized. I like how the first half of the newspaper shows the top stories of the day and then the middle half has the top cover stories. The way the news headlines are written make me want to read the story. The pictures on the cover really go with the stories and draw you into reading the newspaper.
