I am going to interview a student who uses tumblr regularly and a teacher who uses it often.
Why do you use tumblr?
Does it benefit you in any ways?
Do you use any other blogging sites?
Do you think tumblr is a great social network that's still new and creative and why?
What's different about tumblr that you like?

Twitter politics story
 why do you feel people attacked you on twitter?
what point were you trying to get across?
do you feel like you were bullied for what you said?
do you think people nowadays get flack for their views on certain topics a lot?
do you think social networks are good for expressing peoples point of views?
I am going to interview natalie chapman and sierra montoya and another student who uses social networks regularly.

Newspaper issue 1

1. the number is 9
2. I contributed by laying out pages for the student life section. I wrote a story about the kids who play yugioh and a story on a foreign exchange student.
3.About 27-30 people helped contribute to the paper
4. I liked a lot of the photos in the paper but one photo that really captured my eyes is the one Elianne took of a girl doing her work on the computer it captures a really real moment.
5. My favorite story was about the flipped classrooms because it is definitely a big topic/issue at school. It was written by Ben. I'm glad there was a story written about it because i felt like it needed to be heard about.
6. my favorite graphic was the ACL art that sonny drew. I like it because it is really colorful and adds a spark to the story.
7.the pages that look the best are the news pages. They have lots of things going on and is well balanced with photos and stories. I was drawn into many of the stories.
8. Next issue I will layout my pages and work better at writing stories and being more prepared as an editor. This issue helped me get more prepared and know what to expect so now I feel like I can do more than I did this issue for the next.

New age of Journalism

1.  The guardian covered the story of the Three Little Pigs through their website, their newspaper and, and through television.
2. No the story is not the same, The guardian took a twist to it and made it even more interesting and suspenseful.
3. They didn't really interview anyone but the police and ministries
4.The main aspects that were covered were the opposite opinion
5.They didn't really cover the story behind it
6. The guardian read that the pigs were indeed guilty of the murder.
7.Stay updated on a day to day basis keep our ears open for anything that could be a big story like this one
8.Be listening and do stories like this

story: yu-gi-oh kids and im going to interview the kids who play it at lunch and then maybe the librarians since they are familiar with the players

Two Important Things

Two things that  I feel that we should add to making our paper stronger are
having lots of social media in getting people into reading our online paper and trying to digging deeper with interviews to make our stories better.

acl festival

How do you feel about the acl passes being raised up in price?

Front pages of the World

My favorite newspaper front page was the Daily News because it had a lot of color and the dominant photo of the page captured my attention into making me want to read the story with the photo. I also liked the headlines of the stories because they were clever and made me want to read the actual story.

My favorite headline from the paper is "Future of film faces an overhaul" because I myself am interested in film and the headline made me wonder "what do they mean by overhaul" and it kept me guessing about the story and pulling me into wanting to read it.

There are about 3 stories that are appealing to me and look good.

I noticed that all of the front pages that I looked at all had a dominant photo on the cover of the paper that captured my eyes.

I noticed that some front pages had more writing than the others or that some had more photos than the others. I also noticed that some of the major headlines took up a lot of space and some of them didn't take up a lot of space.

 bob phillips quickly rummages through the remains of his house Friday the morning after a drunk driver crashed into his house. The drunk driver was not terribly hurt and everyone in the house were unharmed. Though phillips admits many items that were valuable were destroyed.

 ( left to right) Amy Lopez and Dan Peterson hold their son Max tightly the day Peterson is deployed to Iraq. Lopez admits "We all cried for a long time because this is his first time leaving me, leaving me and our son. I don't know what I'm going to do." Peterson will be deployed for two years and will return in the spring of 2014.


 Two pilots and a jet quickly take a plunge to the ground as the jet engine gave out. Neither of the pilots were injured though the jet quickly burst into flames as it hit the ground.
